‘But those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint’ – Isaiah 40:31
Welcome to 2021! I’d like to take a moment to pat everyone on the back for surviving 2020. I’ll admit, I’m not usually one for participation trophies but this year, we all earned it. What a year it was for the economy, the job market, and really, the world. Last year took a toll on each of us but we made it and now we’re getting a fresh start that I hope will lead to many new and wonderful things for each of us.
One year ago I took over as editor of this blog and I hope you enjoyed all that we as a board, a ministry, and a team brought to you last year. We’re back to do it again in 2021 and will continue to bring useful, relevant topics no matter what 2021 holds.
In the month of January we will be talking about purpose. The new year feels like a good time to revisit the Lord’s purpose for our lives. As we launch into this year if I can give you one encouragement it is this: make your relationship with the Lord a priority. In 2020, I read the Bible through in a year for the 12th time. The year was tumultuous for me as I faced a downsize, left, started an entirely new career in a new industry, and weathered the same pandemic craziness each of you did. When I look back I am most grateful that I never faltered in spending the first part of everyday with God.
This blog would be extra popular if I could tell you what new curveballs are coming in 2021, but I’ll be just as anxious to see as everyone else. What I do know is that God continues to be in control and our relationships with Him are how we will not just survive but thrive in the aftermath of 2020. Determine as we take on what’s next to make Him a priority. I guarantee you won’t regret it.
Join us in finding purpose this month and for another great year here at Crossroads. As always, we welcome feedback in the comments below on topics you’d like to see this year.
Happy New Year,
Becca

Hey Amit! Thanks so much for the words of affirmation. Hope your new year is off to a great start. Love, Becca
Becca ~ Thank You! firstly for your words of encouragement and taking on the task of this blog on top of your new beginning! I slipped last year and failed to read each morning so attempted to pick it up in the evenings. That didn’t work so well .. I missed many nights, falling asleep Bible and devotional wide open on the bed the next morning .. I am back on track this year and it is already a BETTER YEAR! My goal is to be more fluid as I follow Him and be more aware of His works for me -vs- “what do I want to do?”

Hey Victoria – Love this. Have you tried the bible app? It has the option to have the scriptures read to you if you get behind or have a crazy day. I catch up while commuting sometimes. 😉 Love, Becca
Grateful for your encouraging words! God Bless.

Thanks so much Bruce! So glad to have your readership here. Love, Becca
Definitely grateful for yours of encouragement! I am excited about 2021 and what Gods is doing. I have already been amping up my time with the Lord but it’s nice to see how transcendent the Holy Spirit is. Keep up the good work and looking forward to more of what the Holy Spirit gives you to share.
