The impact of the coronavirus on the global economy has been staggering.
The Labor Department’s jobs reports from the week of April 20 showed more than 26.5 million NEW unemployment claims since the national shutdown began five weeks earlier. And that number is expected to inch higher as new reports come out.

The stock market has been volatile at best, with any spikes usually followed the next day by a new floor.
Whether or not a national shutdown was the best approach to respond to a mysterious new virus is a debate for another time.
What is pressing now is the obvious impact that an economy-killing coronavirus reaction has caused, and how we must respond.
In order to have faith at work, we believe, you have to have work.
Some experts predict that, by the time all is said and done, the United States may have an unemployment rate as high as 32%. These are figures not seen since the Great Depression.
Does this mean that, thanks to COVID-19, we have to settle for these trends? Or is there a Christ-centered approach to hearing God calling, maximizing your potential, and getting the right job—even in the face of unprecedented crisis?
At Crossroads Career, we believe that there is. And we believe that setbacks like COVID-19 don’t have the final say when it comes to a person’s livelihood.
A crossroads in your career doesn’t have to define your career in a negative way. Even with a record rise in unemployment, career transition can be made better for you.
Crossroads Career Services, a national nonprofit ministry, has been working for over 30 years to help people find and follow Jesus through crossroads in their career.
In the midst of their transition we help people hear God calling, maximize their potential, and get the right job.
We support people with Scriptural principles, applied to sound job search and career transition strategies and tactics through a 7-Step process that helps people look Upward, Inward, and Outward.
Below you can download a booklet that gives you a quick overview of Crossroads Career’s 7 Steps to Help You Hear God Calling, Maximize Your Career, and Get the Right Job.

You could say that Ephesians 2:10 is our organizational verse here at Crossroads Career:
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
“So we can do the good things (work)…” may see to be a far-fetched concept right now, given all the lost work and opportunities that is our current reality.
But now—more than ever—as we face the biggest economic and health challenge of our times, you have an exceptional opportunity to respond to God’ call on your career… and life.
Start here to make your next job search a little easier.
