Prayer Warriors Needed

More than a War of Words

Last Wednesday at 3:05PM, our Prayer Network lit up because of this prayer request: “please pray for me I’m dealing with depression. I feel hopeless and alone.”

It triggered a potential suicide alert to Crossroads Career Support, and we forwarded a message to a nearby career ministry: “We had a person fill out a prayer that is in Orlando. We have prayed and reached out by email but wanted you to see this right away.  I would recommend to reach out to her and have someone meet her in person for coffee and physically connect with her. We get these alerts and take them very seriously. Let us know if you need help?”

The ministry followed up:  “I responded to her, so I will let you know how that goes.”  The next morning at 8:32AM the ministry reported: “She is responding and has applied to attend our class.”  It’s spiritual warfare where lives hang in the balance.

Free Prayer Guide

Attached is Crossroads Career Prayer Guide that we created for pastors, ministry leaders and prayer warriors.  Written instructions on praying online are on page 5.

As part of our equipping the Church to help people find jobs, careers and God’s calling, we prepared a short prayer guide for pastors, ministry leaders and prayer warriors.  It includes how to pray everyday in 7 minutes, taking a deeper dive in the Lord’s Prayer, online and on-the-ground prayer.  Download a copy now.

See four recent prayer requests from our online prayer network. As you can see, this is serious.

• Lydia:  I need new job asap for health reasons as well as for peace of mind and newly incurred expenses. Please pray that hiring mgrs do not “age discriminate” (50) or “over-qualify” me, and instead see my qualifications as value to them. Willing to take pay cut from last position to at least break even.

• Hope: I have been out of work since Jan. I am struggling with expenses and finding my way. Please pray for steady employment and God’s will.

• Lori:  For faith and patience. Finished cancer treatment in 2013. Having more energy now and want to try working part time. Have not been able to find work since Feb this year. Getting discouraged.

• John:  I have a job interview this Wed. and I really need it to lead to a position as I am facing eviction very soon, I have made some poor choices in my life and pray for Gods hand in my life.

These are real people with real problems right now.   John’s job interview is TODAY.  He is facing possible homelessness or maybe worse.  He is asking for help to go before the throne of God.  He knows its not just an employment or economic issue.  It’s spiritual warfare!

Help John by Prayer

Most of us think about war as guns, bombs and worse.  Spiritual warfare is behind the scenes where the real action is.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
We are
destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…
2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Would you consider joining us?  We are seeking prayer warriors to fight the good fight for people’s livelihoods and, yes, even their lives.

You can pray for John quickly and confidentially online and he will get a copy of your prayer and be encouraged without knowing it is you.  Just go to sign-in or signup.  Look for the Prayer Network on the bottom right of the page, where you can:

  • Pray for John and others
  • Request prayers for you and others
  • Praise God for answered prayers

Please pray today because his interview is today.  While you are there, pray for Lydia, Hope and Lori too.  In fact, it would be great if you would pray everyday.

Join Our Prayer Team

I am also renewing our national prayer warrior team.  The commitment is to pray EVERY DAY for just one person in our PRAYER NETWORK plus once a week special requests from the Crossroads Career Services team and board as we seek to equip more and more churches to help people find jobs, careers and God’s calling. 1. This is a good reminder of the importance of “comforting those who are in trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:4). Let’s keep reaching out to one another.
