Pray 2017 Without Ceasing

Pray-without-ceasing

New year ahead! We don’t know what the future will bring, but we do know Who does know. After 29 years of Crossroads Career ministering, we are sharing our best ever reflections and resources, as well as tools and tips, on how to pray without ceasing.

Pray and Prep

Rather than begin by setting goals and making plans, start by praying and preparing.

Who, what, when, where, and how to pray and prep?

The WHO is you in communion with God! WHAT to pray can be anything and everything, but 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 might be a great place to start building a life of prayer and preparation.

Rejoice always
pray without ceasing
in everything give thanks
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus

WHEN and WHERE? Pray all the time everywhere without ceasing! Seem impossible? All things are “Him-possible”, spiritually speaking. Think of yourself as a fighter pilot starting every day in the briefing room before flying your mission. As you take off, remember that you remain connected by a spiritual two-way radio. At any moment, you can talk with the Commander. At the end of the day, go back to the de-briefing room for praise, thanksgiving and rejoicing.

HOW to pray? Your physical and even your mental posture is on your knees, loving the Lord completely upward. You can have your eyes open or closed. You can speak and sing with your lips or your mind. You can write or draw in a journal using the left side of each page for your prayers and the right side for God’s thoughts.

  1. We’ve discussed this previously, need to consider again. Jeremiah 6:16, you already know the how and why, practice again. 2nd, example from Bobby Richardson- “GOD, your Grace, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else.” His Grace is sufficient and will supply every need you have. Dick
