Happy New Year! As we begin 2020, you will notice changes here on the Crossroads Career blog.
Members of our Board of Directors run this blog and in 2019, James did an incredible job of providing content as well as an unbeatable lineup of webinars. We are excited to continue to provide useful blog content and new webinars this year.
Starting today, this blog will be run by myself, Becca. I joined the Crossroads board in 2019 at the invitation of Brian Horvath. I found Crossroads when I was at a low point in my own career feeling discontent and underused in my workplace. After taking our career course I negotiated a promotion and raise that laid the foundation for a shift in my career. I am eternally grateful for the resources Crossroads provided me personally in that time of need and beyond. Serving on the board has been a great honor.
In 2019 I walked through several tough seasons in my own work-life that you will hear more about throughout this year. From ending up in a work situation so bad I questioned the Lord’s plans for me, to experiencing my first season of unemployment, and into my current role I have learned so much about the faithfulness and provision of God. It further solidified in my mind the need for Crossroads to walk people through the many trials, challenges, and joys of the workplace.
What can you expect this year? In addition to continuing to curate content from the wealth of available resources we have and provide at Crossroads, we have a collection of guest bloggers to provide new content we believe will be relevant and help you in your career journey. The voices you will hear here will be varied, as we know our audience is. We hope that this blog will comfort, inspire, push, and encourage you where you are and in all the Lord has for you.
Most of all, we hope to honor the Lord by providing content that will keep Him at the center of our careers during transition and beyond. As our creator and the one who gifted each of us uniquely and wonderfully, we know that our opportunities in the workplace have eternal value.
As we start this New Year I hope that you will interact with the blog and with me. I’d love to hear feedback on posts as well as topics you’d like to see addressed or covered here. We can grow together in 2020 and I hope for many years to come.
